ENCAPSULATED O-RINGS

Encapsulated O-ring gaskets, combine the qualities of PTFE-FEP with silicone elastomer VMQ or Viton-FKM. They consist of a top layer of 0.2 mm that protects the elastomer inside chemical aggressive environments.

There exist different combinations:

• Viton-FKM + FEP
• Viton-FKM + PFA
• Silicone-VMQ + FEP
Silicone-VMQ + PFA

Encapsulated O-rings are commonly used in the pharmaceutical and food industries as they are manufactured under FDA norm, and in the chemical and petrochemical thanks to its ability to work against harsh chemicals industries.

  • Encapsulated Silicone O-ring gaskets: Normally used as static seal, FEP and PFA provide an excellent chemical resistance, and the silicone body flexibility that plastic does not have. Usually is used the soul of silicone (-60 a +260ºC) to work with products that require FDA standard or is in contact with food. Use of FEP jacket stability limit us to a lower temperature range the PFA will remain stable up to + 260 ° C, further having the property of superior abrasion resistance and pressure.
  • Encapsulated FKM O-ring gaskets: normally used as static seal, the FEP and PFA It provide excellent chemical resistance and body fluoroelastomer, a flexibility that plastic does not have. Preferably we use the fluoroelastomer (-20 a +204 ºC), taking advantage of its chemical resistance. Use of FEP jacket stability limit us to a temperature below the range of PFA  will remain stable until +260 ° C, further having the property of superior abrasion resistance and pressure.

Encapsulated gaskets  with FEP or PFA with silicone and FKM, they are used as seals both O- format, square, rectangular, oval and for Camlock type closures, whether they be in solid or hollow form.

They are available in various standard diameters and the possibility of custom manufacturing.

We can produce other no-nominal compound o-ring.
